FAQs

Q. How white will my teeth get?
A. After undergoing whitening treatment the teeth shades can brighten between five to fourteen shades, with an average improvement of eight shades. Individual results will depend on how discoloured the teeth are before the treatment.

Q. How long will the whitening last?
A. This varies from person to person and depends on individual lifestyle, but the effects usually last for about two years. Periodic touch-up treatments are recommended for clients who frequently consume coffee or other staining food and drinks including tobacco products.

Q. How long does the treatment take?
A. Impression Teeth Whitening treatment consists of three, 15 minute applications of whitening gel and light.

Q. How often can I have the treatment done?
A. This will depend on the whitening results you want to see, we recommend additional treatment to undergo no less than 1-2 months after the first treatment but would suggest additional home kits to keep a whiter smile.

Q. If I have veneers, bonding or caps, will this treatment still whiten my teeth?
A. If your veneers, bonding or caps are visible when you smile you should look at alternative options available, as matching the colour on any of the above is unlikely. This will all depend on how discoloured your teeth are compared to your replacements.

Q. Will my teeth be sensitive during or after the treatment?
A. Most clients experience no pain or sensitivity during or after the treatment. However a very small percentage of clients may feel some minor tooth sensitivity, especially if he or she consumes very cold or hot foods or drinks within a few hours after the treatment. Therefore it is recommended that clients avoid consuming extremely hot or cold food or beverages for the first 24 hours following the treatment.

Q. Can tetracycline stains be removed from my teeth?
A. Blue-gray staining caused by tetracycline is more difficult to lighten and may require several treatments to successfully lighten but results can still be achieved.
(Tetracycline is an antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections).
